Immersive UXPhase 5 UX’s immersive user experience methodology allows us to rapidly design and prototype physical spaces and, using the power of virtual reality technology, provide an engaging, first-person experience for participants in which to conduct user research.
As part of moderated, in-person interviews in our Toronto User Experience Lab, participants are able to explore detailed three-dimensional design concepts and provide key insights that would be unattainable with two-dimensional mock-ups and images.
Immersive User Experience is ideal for conducting studies of:
- Commercial & retail environmental design, exploring alternative layouts of departments and merchandise, locations of services and staff, flow of visitors through facilities.
- Signage and way-finding, testing the discoverability and efficacy of signage in the context of the environments within which it will be encountered.
- Non-traditional interfaces, gaining deeper insight into the presentation and user experience of non-traditional interfaces, such as car dashboards or smart home appliances, without creating physical prototypes.
Members of the project team are able to observe the participant interacting with the virtual world in real-time via a simulcast of their first-person perspective, either from our observation room or remotely via screen sharing software.
Designs can be rapidly iterated upon during the course of testing to allow for refinement of concepts based on user feedback and validation of changes with subsequent participants.
